Individual Instruction
Study with master woodworkers in one of the country’s finest shops.

Spend two weeks, one week, or a long weekend in a cottage nestled in five acres of redwoods. Get private, one-on-one instruction in woodworking techniques.

Perfect for beginning or advanced woodworkers, you can choose to study basic techniques or work on a specific project. Instruction is custom-designed to match your personal requirements, which we will establish before you arrive.

"Thank you for a wonderful week! Jane and I really enjoyed it! The week exceeded my expectations.
You covered everything I had hoped to learn and more.
"The dovetailing! - I can't wait to get into my shop and make my first drawer using my new skills."
"As for the cottage , we were thrilled with it - simple and tasteful and comfortable - so quiet we could hear the ocean even at night with closed windows."

“My dream was to translate some of the images I carried around in my head into a concrete working prototype. Your wonderful combination of expertise and ingenuity facilitated my vision. Your greatest gift was a teaching model along with constant practical implementation. I was hearing and doing, hearing and doing.”

Anita Ruis – Student.

"You won’t find a better facility, and you won’t find any better teachers."

All instruction takes place in our new shop (featured in Fine Woodworking Tools and Shops - Winter 2002/2003). You will be the only student, working with state of the art equipment and old world tools.

Three-day clients arrive on Thursday evening, with lessons on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a Monday morning check-out. Evenings are free to explore the area’s many restaurants. For one and two-week students, weekends are available to explore the fabulous Mendocino Coast: hike, bike, fish, canoe, take garden walks, and tour the historic towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. If scheduling allows, we will adjust to your vacation plans.
