Pair of Girondelles

This pair of girondelles is an example of my fascination with tweaking 18th century designs. Then, it was common to find this kind of mirror in upscale residences, usually in the parlor or the dining room. The convex surface gave the illusion of space that was often absent. Notice the detail applied to the frames. Bits of local crab shell make all the difference.
